BA Holidays withdraws packages from sale

British Airways Holidays has cancelled its trips over the next few weeks after initially continuing to sell package deals despite the national lockdown.


The BBC reported that the operator has withdrawn product from sale and is telling customers due to travel soon that their trips have been cancelled.


BA Holidays had earlier said it was continuing to operate and sell packages to assist business travellers, who are still able to travel.


According to the BBC, BA Holidays said: "We've been in touch with customers due to travel in the coming days and weeks to offer a refund if their travel plans do not meet Government guidelines for permitted travel.


"As it's now clear most customers are travelling for leisure, we have decided to withdraw package deals from sale.


"Customers legally permitted to travel during the lockdown period remain able to book flights for their essential travel via ba.com."


Most other operators had already cancelled departures over the next few weeks.
