Doing up her first homeMrs. Jane who is moving into her semi-detached house in February. She states that she is totally confused about how her home should be renovated and decorated. Since this is your first home, Mrs. Jane doesn’t rush into things without a lot of thought and consideration. Look around, seek advice and get quotations before arriving at a decision. As a rule, buy the bare essentials and build up around them. Remember that it’s often years before owners actually have their homes done to their taste. For a start, we’ve designed five areas of the home for you namely the master bedroom, living room, kitchen, children corners and family room upstairs.

The Family Room is a cozy area for the family to gather in at the end of the day with a design suggesting a sofa set in plywood frame with fabric finish, book shelves and sideboard of compact chipboard for television, coffee table of chrome and glass and a cane divider. The Children corners, Your children (aged 1½ and 6 years) would certainly love a cheerful corner like this in the hall which you asked for. You can scout for bright wallpaper; pictures etc with cute animal figures and prints and have a small play area (as shown) with lots of shelves for toys. The Kitchen: A neat and compact kitchen. A practical area near the window is the inclusion of the sink and sideboard for preparation of meals. Floor- to- ceiling cabinet’s line two walls and a counter for quick meal’s of plywood frame with laminate finish is suggested.
